I travelled all the way from London to visit California Brain & Spine Center, and I’m very glad I made the trip. I had been struggling with balance problems and brain fog after hitting my head while playing basketball, so I came here for Neuro Sensory Motor Integration . From my first visit, Dr. Alireza Chizari and the whole team were friendly, welcoming and professional. Dr. Chizari listened carefully to my concerns, took time to understand my symptoms and history, and carried out detailed testing without making me feel rushed. He explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. The centre was also very clean and well organised. Overall, I had a great experience and really appreciated the care and attention I received. Travelling from London was a long journey, but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this centre to anyone dealing with similar balance or brain fog problems after an injury.

I had the best experience with Dr. Chizari. Before I came I struggled with brain fog, fainting, anxiety, and sleeping properly. After spending a few months working on all of this with Dr. Chizari, I can see such a difference genuinely every day. Great Place ! Very clean and staff are friendly. I have been coming here for a couple weeks now for vertigo and off balance feeling. I have felt improvement in just a couple sessions. The doctor is very caring and takes a lot of time with you. First appointment is one hour and the next appointment is 2 hours for testing. Doctor is hands on and hanldes everything himself which is a great plus. You are not dealing with any aids but only with the doctor. However the front desk staff are great as well. great place to come for the specific symptoms they treat. I will refer others here for sure.

I went to California Brain & Spine Center after I got a concussion after falling riding a bicycle. I was dizzy, lightheaded, had brain fog and balance issues. Dr.Ali did some exams on me that no one else did like eye tracking and vestibular testing, PLR testing and I had findings that showed why I was getting those results. He did therapies over few weeks based on Neuroplasticity, without medication or invasive treatments. I'd definitely recommend this clinic to anyone who is dealing with concussion symptoms.

It’s hard to describe the impact California Brain and Spine Center has had in my life. After two years of searching for answers to help my concussion/TBI, I was referred to Dr. Chizari and I am SO glad I showed up for that free consult. He was the first doctor to listen to every single symptom, have empathy, do actual testing to see what was wrong and present solutions to each symptom. I’m a 34-year-old woman and for the longest time, I couldn’t figure out what was happening to my body. I came to California Brain & Spine Center after exhausting every option with other medical professionals and still finding no answers. I had been diagnosed with PPPD and VBD and had been suffering for nearly five years—three of those years were absolutely unbearable. My condition forced me to stop working and go on disability. I couldn’t tolerate looking at a computer screen, much less drive. I lived in a constant state of disorientation, brain fog, and overwhelming anxiety. Dr. Ali is incredible. I came to his functional neurology clinic after a car accident, struggling with significant fatigue and an inability to focus. I first came to California Brain & Spine Center after experiencing ongoing headaches, balance issues, and anxiety following a car accident. Dr Chizari not only provided excellent medical care but took the time to listen and showed genuine compassion throughout my 3 months of treatment. He is patient and kind and showed concern for how I was feeling at each appointment while creating a treatment plan to help me. The treatments and exercises he worked with me on, including sessions with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) have greatly improved not only my original symptoms, but my brain fog is clearer and I've been sleeping much better as well. Dr. Chizari helped me SOOOOOOOO MUCH. When I came in for initial testing in December after a car accident 2.5+ years ago I was still having a hard time recovering from though I'd been in countless treatments (I think 17+ practitioners at that point), he gave me a thorough interview before testing to discuss my symptoms and what treatments I'd been doing. In the tests, I failed- off the charts badly- 9/12 vestibular system checks. I only had healthy balance in 1/12. I had many vision issues and my nervous system was highly activated within the left side of my body (factors like dilation of the left eye vs right and others told, and I'd been hit on left side mainly of back of my head). He is so attentive and gave me almost more at home exercises than I could handle but I did them diligently and by the time I left I improved all of the things we tested exponentially based off my final testing! I can read and focus again, and do mental math I couldn't and cried trying to do a very basic question in the first test (emotional post concussion issues are improved too). I have more energy, my executive functioning came back, I'm taking care of my life and finances in a way I didn't have the capacity too at all before the treatments with him, and kicking butt frankly it feels like compared to before the treatments with him! I was afraid to do hyperbaric chamber but in the end I know it helped greatly. I highly recommend Dr. Chizari and California Brain & Spine whole heartedly!! You will be so happy with your results-- people in my community can see visibly how much better I am just in conversations etc-- and do your homework :)!!

The kindest doctor with a gift for healing. His approach is data driven. My initial visit was a thorough 2-3 hours where I was hooked up to sensors to confirm what was happening in my nervous system. I was pleased to see the data afterwards and compare it to regular, healthy baseline patients, which showed the areas I needed help in. His approach in physical therapy is unique to each person's needs. A very inspiring individual that is committed to helping patients feel their best selves again. I feel in control again.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book a complimentary consultation directly, online or by calling (818) 649-5300.

What is functional neurology?

Functional neurology looks at how well different parts of the nervous system are working together, using detailed testing of eye movements, balance, coordination and autonomic function. Care is non-invasive and based on what that testing finds.

What happens at the first visit?

You start with a complimentary consultation. If we’re a good fit, the next step is a 120-minute neurodiagnostic assessment, and Dr. Chizari explains every result in plain language before recommending a plan.

Is care safe, and do you work with my other doctors?

Care is non-invasive and matched to your tolerance. We work alongside primary care, ENT and medical neurology, and any question about medication goes back to the clinician who prescribed it. Sudden or severe symptoms need emergency care first.

Where are you located and when are you open?

4768 Park Granada, Ste 107, Calabasas, CA 91302. We’re open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm, and closed on weekends. We see patients from Calabasas and across the 101 corridor, including Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks.
